Italy now has its two representatives for the playoffs of the 2020 IIHF Esports Fan Championship on Sunday - a pair of Azzurri winners that dominated the competition.

In the final on the PlayStation 4 Mirco 'Tron1x90' Salvi won 11:1 against Andrea 'Andre_Fox' Volpe. After a walk-through in the first round, he never let any tension arise during the tournament, giving up just one more goal the rest of the way. 'Tron1x90' made his debut in the round of sixteen with a 10-0 win over 'StoneDen19' and a 6:0 victory over 'oboiukpako' in the top eight. He made the final participation perfect with a 5:1 win against Luca 'Mastino27' Pozzi. 'Tron1x90' will now represent Italy together with the winner on Xbox, Riccardo 'Tombrick 091' Tombolato, in the playoffs against international competition.

'Tombrick 091' had to eliminate three opponents for his playoff ticket and did so with similar efficiency: First he beat 'GMClax77' 7:3, but in the two decisive rounds he didn't have to concede any more goals: In the semi-finals he beat Andrea 'Dolphin7' Delfino 4:0 and won the final game 9:0. His opponent there was Nicholas 'Nicholas' Martinelli. The two qualifier will aim to represent Italy in the playoffs, but can already look forward to various prizes: They will each receive two tickets to see Team Italy play at the 2021 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, 100 euros prize money and a special IIHF Esports Fan Championship puck.
